Faber-Castell is known for its high quality, innovative products, commitment, tradition and focus on environmental awareness. Faber-Castell produces a wide range of writing and drawing tools of particularly high quality. Faber-Castell was founded in 1761 and they are credited with inventing the pencil. The legendary company is still managed by a member of the Faber family.
Faber-Castell is a CO2-neutral and nature-preserving company!
TÜV Rheinland has certified that the company is CO2-neutral. The company's forests in Brazil actively contribute to protecting the environment. Instead of utilizing individual "green products", Faber-Castell minimizes its environmental footprint throughout the product's life cycle. Faber-Castell products are green because they are long-lasting, often refillable as well as non-polluting and come from CO2-neutral production. The use of bio and recycled plastics also improves Faber-Castell's "green footprint"
The forests in Brazil absorb more than 900,000 tonnes of CO2 and thus bind many times more carbon dioxide than the company emits worldwide. The unique replanting project in southeastern Brazil was initiated 30 years ago by company manager Anton-Wolfgang Graf von Faber-Castell. About 10,000 hectares were planted with millions of cuttings. FSC-certified wood from these forests is now used to supply the world's largest factory in Sao Carlos, which has a production capacity of more than 2 billion wooden pencils per year. In addition to securing the resources, respectful treatment of nature plays an important role: Approx. 2,700 hectares of forest remain untouched and have become a habitat for rare plant and animal species. The constant replanting of the harvested rows of trees creates an ecologically closed cycle.
